Monday, 14th April

Central: Creative Experience: Explore, Learn, Design, 4-6pm.  Grades 6-12.

Tuesday, April 15th

Julia Davis: Manga and Anime Drawing Club, 3:30-4:30pm.  Grades 6-12

Machacek: DIY: String Eggs, 4-5pm.  Celebrate spring with this simple but unusual craft.  Grades 6-12.

Central: Guerilla Poetry, 5-6pm.  Teen Lounge.  Grades 6-12.

Wednesday, April 16th

Central: Got Game?, 3-5pm.  Xbox 360 and Wii games.  Teen Lounge.  Grades 6-12.

Divoll: DIY: Paint Swatch Bookmarks, 4-6pm.  Grades 6-12.

Buder: DIY: No-Sew T-Shirt Up-Cycles, 4-5pm.  Can’t sew? No problem.   Bring in your favorite old t-shirts and turn them into something new: headbands, bags, and more!  Grades 6-12.

Thursday, April 17th

Schlafly: Got Game?, 3-5pm.  Play Xbox 360 or Wii games.  Grades 6-12.  Groups of 5 or more register in advance.

Walnut Park: Book Spine Poetry, 4-6pm.  Grades 6-12.

Carondelet: DIY: Floppy Disc Pencil Holders, 4-5pm.  Grades 6-12.

Barr: Teen Poetry Slam, 4-5pm.  Grades 6-12.

Friday, April 18th

Cabanne: DIY: Recycle It! Wear it!, 4-5pm.  Up-cycled jewelry. Grades 6-12

Carondelet: DIY: Sweet Text Messaages, 4-5pm.   Candy cell phones with a message for your sweetheart. Grades 6-12.

Machacek: DIY: Valentine Frames, 4-5pm.  These frames will be the perfect spot to hold pictures of that somebody special. Grades 6-12.

February may be the shortest month of the year, but it is definitely not a quiet month.  With Black History Month, the Winter Olympics, and my birthday, there will be no shortage of events at your local St. Louis library.

Here’s the rundown for the week of Feb. 3rd to Feb. 9th:

Monday, February 3rd

Central: Creative Experience: Explore, Learn, Design, 4-5pm.  Grades 6-12. First Floor Creative Experience.

Barr: DIY: Unity Bracelets, 4-5pm.  Grades 6-12. Groups of 5 or more register in advance.

Carpenter: Black History Month Film Series, 6-8pm.  Pride. Grades 6-12.

Tuesday, February 4th

Carondelet: Got Game?, 3-4pm.  Play Xbox 360 or Wii games. Grades 6-12.

Buder: DIY: Rolled Paper Collage, 4-5pm.  Roll up strips of magazine and paper to make funky, 3D wall art. Grades 6-12.

Carondelet: DIY: Lip Balm, 4-5pm.  Homemade flavoured lip balm.  Grades 6-12.

Central: Make the Short Trip to Central to Meet Local Authors, 6-8pm.  Meet Heather Brewer, Margo L. Dill, Jody Feldman, Cole Gibson, Jan Greenberg, John Hendrix, Bobby Norfolk, and Inda Schaenen. More authors may be added. Books will be available for purchase from Left Bank Books

Wednesday, January 22nd

Central: What Can You Create?  Explore Creative Experience, 4-6pm.  Get hands-on every Monday with everything from Photoshop to online video gaming. Grades 6-12. Creative Experience.

Buder: Yoga & Tea for Teens, 7-8pm.  De-stress with a 30-minute stretching and breathing session followed by quiet music and tea. Grades 6-12.

Tuesday, December 10th

Julia Davis: DIY: 8-Bit Art, 3:30-4:30pm.  Join your friends for a make and take. Grades 6-12.

Central: Creative Experience – Home Movie Day Event, 1-3pm.  Home Movie Day is an international event that invites the public to share their Regular 8mm, Super 8mm, 16mm, VHS, and DVD home movies and learn about film preservation. In conjunction with Washington University Libraries.
