Happenings at St. Louis Public Library for the week of Sept. 23rd – Sept. 29th.

Monday, Sept. 23rd

Julia Davis: Poetry Slam, 3:30-4:30 pm.  Read, write, and discuss poetry and rap. Practice your slam skills. Grades 6-12.

Tuesday, Sept. 24th

Divoll: Got Game?, 3-4:30 pm.  Play Xbox 360 or Wii games. Grades 6-12.

Carondelet: Game Day: Apples to Apples, 4-5 pm.  Grades 6-12.   

Central: Authors @ Your Library presents: Patrick Ness in conversation with Dr. JenniferBuelher, 6-7:30 pm.  Patrick Ness will discuss and sign his books. This is an on-stage, in-conversation event with Dr. Jennifer Buehler, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education at St. Louis University. Mr. Ness’ work includes the highly acclaimed book, A Monster Calls.


Wednesday, Sept. 25th

Julia Davis: Freedom to Read: Banned Books Challenge, 3-5 pm.  Design your own book based on your favorite banned books. Grades 6-12.

Central: Polish and Pages: Who Am I Without Him: Short Stories about Girls and Boys in Their Lives by Sharon G. Flake, 3:30-4:30 pm.  Bring some glam to the library. Paint your nails. Use young adult books as inspiration. Grades 6-12. First Floor Teen Lounge.

Buder: Duct Tape Throwdown, 3:30-4:30 pm.  What can you make with duct tape? Grades 6-12.

Thursday, Sept. 26th

Central: Anime Club, 3:30-4:30 pm.  Watch and discuss manga. Try different activities each month. First Floor Teen Lounge.

Baden: DIY: Constellation Jars, 4-5 pm.  Bring starlight to any room. Grades 6-12.

Kingshighway: Be a Star, 4:30-5:30 pm.  Play Guitar Hero. Grades 6-12.

Walnut Park: Got Game?, 5-6 pm.  Xbox 360 & Wii games. Grades 6-12.

Friday, Sept. 27th

Central: Got Game?, 3-5 pm.  Xbox & Wii games. Grades 6-12. First Floor Teen Lounge.
