The Mystery of the Third Lucretia, by Susan Runholt.

My dad got me this book a couple years back, and I haven’t stopped laughing (or reading it). Lucas and Carrie take you on an adventure through Minnesota, London, and Amsterdam that you won’t soon regret or forget. Filled with quick-fire humor that many modern books lack, The Mystery of the Third Lucretia is a fast read you will not be able to put down.

Carrie and Lucas are two best friends forever who uncover an art forgery scheme without understanding it when they are ten. Four years later clues emerge and Carrie and Lucas realize that they are the only ones who can solve the mystery of the third Lucretia painting. Told from the eyes of Carrie, the plot breaks away from the convention that most female protagonists only think about romance.

After finishing this one, I strongly recommend its sequel: Rescuing Seneca Crane.

–Margaret S, 15 – Carpenter Branch.
