And Then There Were None – Agatha Christie

This is a very good read for fans of mystery novels. It features all of the essentials: suspense, deception, and a good plot. Some of the characters are also quite likable. In addition, the ending will surprise you.

 Animal Farm – George Orwell

When I decided to read George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, I expected a less than interesting allegory about the French and Russian Revolution. Fortunately, I did not get what I expected; “Animal Farm” was a very good read in my opinion. The characters are very intriguing, especially Napoleon. I also enjoyed the political ideas used in the novel such as Animal-ism (which is really communism) versus democracy. Democracy versus communism is a main conflict in the novel. Even though I loved “Animal Farm”, I will say it is not for everyone. If you are a teen who is into politics, you will enjoy it.
