Creepy Creepers Creeping Around Creeperton

Halloween is almost upon us.  Instead of settling down on the couch to watch a Friday the 13th marathon, why not pick-up a book instead?  Here’s a few ghoulish suggestions that will have you sleeping with the lights on:

indexThe Last Apprentice: Book Twelve: I Am Alice by Joseph Delany

The twelfth book in the internationally best-selling fantasy adventure series that inspired the forthcoming major motion picture Seventh Son. Told from the point of view of Alice, best friend–and true love–to Tom, the Spook’s last apprentice. Alice is the most powerful witch in the world, and she ventures into the dark itself. Will she return? Alice Dean’s destiny is intertwined with Tom Ward’s. But he’s going to be the next Spook, and she’s a witch–possibly the most powerful one the world has ever seen. To rid the world of its greatest evil, the Fiend, Alice will venture into the depths of the dark for the final weapon Tom needs to defeat him. Will she survive? Or will she make the ultimate sacrifice for Tom?

The Undertakers: Queen of the Dead by Ty Dragoindex

Twelve -year old Will Ritter and his rag-tag army of teenage resistance fighters may have triumphed over the Zombies (alien-possessed corpses) last time…but that’s the thing about the dead- they keep coming back. A new Corpse leader has crossed the rift and taken command of the invasion: The Queen of the Dead is even more brilliant and ruthless than her predecessor, and her ambitions are even deadlier. Will and the crew must somehow rescue his mother, prevent an assassination, and show FBI Agent Ramirez the truth about the Corpses-and the danger the world faces.

indexThe Diviners by Libby Bray

Evie O’Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City–and she is pos-i-toot-ly thrilled. New York is the city of speakeasies, shopping, and movie palaces! Soon enough, Evie is running with glamorous Ziegfield girls and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is Evie has to live with her Uncle Will, curator of The Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult–also known as “The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies.” When a rash of occult-based murders comes to light, Evie and her uncle are right in the thick of the investigation. And through it all, Evie has a secret: a mysterious power that could help catch the killer–if he doesn’t catch her first.
