OMG! Free Music and How to Get It!
Freegal is a free and legal music site used by the library. Each week, you can choose 3 songs to keep. I’ll say that again just in case you missed it the first time: 3 songs a week, 12 songs a month, for a grand total of 156 songs a year. That’s over 10 albums worth of music a year –FREE! Yep that’s right, no due dates or late fees, and no DRM – meaning you can copy it, move it, and re-download it. Just free, rockin’ beats that you can download to, or transfer between, your iPod, iPad, iPhone, Android device, or MP3 player.
You can use Freegal by following these steps:
1. Go to www.slpl.org.
2. Mouse over the quick links tab located in the top right corner of the page.
3. Select “games, video, and audio.”
4. Choose music on the left hand side of the page.
5. Click the “Listening” link.
6. Enter your library card number and pin.
7. Use the search engine to find your favourite songs or artists.
8. Rock out to your free music!
